Entrepreneurial Consulting
In my 30 years working with entrepreneurs, I’ve found that there are two “pain points” in the new venture life cycle. The first is the startup phase, and the second is the high growth phase. I can help with both.
In the startup phase, you’re focused on developing a minimally viable product or service, testing & refining it, and launching it with an effective marketing plan. You may also be interested in funding options. You need to focus on two fundamental things:
- Your value proposition – who is your customer and why will they buy your product/service?
- Your business model – how will you make enough money to meet your goals?
Both of these things require a structured and disciplined approach. Skipping over any of the steps without a good reason is a recipe for disaster.
After you have grown organically as much as possible, you are ready to accelerate your growth. This critical period is often referred to as the “knee of the curve” because it’s where your growth shifts from linear to exponential. This growth will often require injections of outside funding, but it will also require developing scalable systems and processes and a transition in the founder’s role to more of a leader and delegator than a hands on manager.
Both of these phases are also difficult personal transitions for the nascent entrepreneur, and require the proper mindset to deal with the inevitable highs and lows that come with business ownership.
If you are interested in more information on my approach to either of these phases, check out my best selling books on starting and growing new businesses. You can also set up a free consultation with me anytime to discuss your situation and how I can help.
